Amanda “Mandi” Thurmond, M.Ed.
Mandi is a licensed teacher with a master’s in education and 18 years in elementary classrooms. She has been the literacy lead, the curriculum developer, the intervention teacher — the person a school calls when a child needs a clearer path.
Scenic City Learning is that same care, one student at a time, in her Red Bank home. Warm, practical, and stubbornly encouraging.

How much does it cost?
$40 per hour, one-on-one. No packages. You pay for the time you book.
What grades do you work with?
Kindergarten through 5th grade. Reading, math, writing, homework and study skills, test prep, and enrichment for accelerated students.
Do you work with accelerated students?
Yes. If classroom work is already easy, we stretch: deeper reading, richer math, stronger writing — not more of the same worksheet. Same $40/hour, same Red Bank house, still K–5.
What should we bring?
Your child. A current book, a math page, a teacher note — whether they’re stuck or already ahead. Mandi has materials either way.
